Written by Christian Gil Portugalisa ...all men are created equal The Declaration of Independence (as penned by Thomas Jefferson)         After going to two different shops in our local community, I noticed that not all of the Commander 2019 decks are equally sought after. The other three decks are flying off the shelves however, the Mystic Intellect deck is still waiting for someone to love. So I decided to see what cards are in the deck and how we can give this deck a fighting chance. The Commanders             The Flashback mechanic is a very interesting ability allowing you to reuse spells that you've already played or discarded. Sevinne, the Chronoclasm takes full use of this mechanic and gives you a "fork" effect where you can copy the spell and you may choose new targets. After play testing the deck, I can safely say that the deck is pretty slow and there are other commanders who I believe can do the same thing Sevinne can and do it

Written by Christian Gil Portugalisa         Hi everyone. What an amazing start of the week. The recent banned and unbanned announcement has really stirred up the waters and is now the talk of the town affecting Modern, Vintage and even French Duel Commander. Excitement or frustration? Only time will tell.         Commander 2019 has finally arrived. This set brings new commanders allowing for new possibilities. One of the most sought after Commander 2019 decks is Merciless Rage. So why don't we talk about Anje Falkenrath and how we can bring madness to its extremes. The Commander         A hasty vampire that has a simple looting ability. What sets her apart from all the other looters is her ability to untap if you discard a card that has the madness ability. For as long as you have them on hand or draw into those madness cards, you can keep untapping Anje and draw as many cards as you want or need. Now that is madness! Are there cards we can compare her abi

Into the Vault: Niv-Mizzet Parun Deck Tech

Written by Christian Gil Portugalisa          Hi everyone. It’s been awhile since our last article. This time, I want to talk about an Izzet Dragon Commander who, in War of the Spark, died and was reborn. Our article will be focused on Niv-Mizzet Parun, the guild master prior to his death. I would also like to dedicate this article to Justin Ian Rosario. I hope this article helps you out and most importantly, bring you fun commander games. The Commander          Niv-Mizzet is a very interesting commander. He always had one thing going for him ever since he first came out in the original Ravnica block. Whenever you draw a card, Niv-Mizzet deals one damage to any target. This is a very powerful ability since all you need to do is put in a lot of cantrips and you’re good to go. Plus this commander can also deal infinite damage with certain cards which we will talk about in a bit.          The biggest downfall of this commander is the high mana cost requirement.
